A few sale items I bagged in a post-Christmas blur
Can you believe that 2017 has almost come to an end? I honestly can’t. Don’t worry though, I’m not here to preach about my goals for 2018 and how I’m going to be a better person etc etc… Because lets face it, I’ll always be a moody and I’ll always spend too much on clothes. And what good is giving up chocolate really?
Instead I’m here to share the few pieces I grabbed in the sale (or, in my case, added to basket quicker than you can say ‘Zara’). I’m not one for Boxing Day sales shopping – the crowds, the queues, the sad faces of the poor souls behind the cash registers are enough for me to steer well clear. But shopping from the sofa in my fresh AF Christmas PJs (from John Lewis btw, how posh) is something I’m totally on board with. So you guessed it – I hit the Zara website HARD.
As expected, within minutes of receiving the notification that the sale was live, almost everything I’d saved for later was sold out in my size. DAMNIT. And obviously, to compensate for my loss I popped a few blouses, pair of trews, two pairs of boots, and sunglasses – because who wants to pay almost £4 for delivery? Um, not me.
Anyway, I’m so glad I got a little click happy sat on the couch with my glass of Bailey’s because I LOVE this pink paisley blouse. I reckon my 2012 self would have been V. impressed too. The boots I was actually planning to return because I later discovered a two-tone pair (shop them here, thank me later!) but as soon as I opened the box I knew it would hurt too much to give them back. Story of our lives, right?
My scarf and coat were both sale finds too. I’d been skulking around since October looking for a faux fur stole that didn’t leave me eating baked beans for two weeks and today all of my wishes were granted. £11. ELEVEN POUND. Can you believe it? Oh, and it gets better – the black coat with the faux fur collar was £16. Approximately the cost of a Nandos. I know what I’d rather have… actually, wait… I don’t. Some Piri Piri chicken wouldn’t go amiss right now.
To complete my outfit, I shoved on my favourite glasses from Black & Lizars. Having spent most of my teens wearing uncomfortable contact lenses for long hours (and forgetting to take them out after stumbling home drunk), having glasses I feel confident enough to wear out and about is AMAZING. Mine are by a brand called Skaga, which you can shop on Black & Lizars website.
What did you all get in the sales this year, if anything at all? Are you an avid Boxing Day shopper or do you tend to avoid the high street?
