dsc_1144dsc_1131dsc_1146dsc_1148dsc_1120dsc_1119The past few weeks I’ve found myself feeling a little (ok, quite a lot) uninspired in terms of my style and overall appearance in general. I’ve even mulled over the idea of getting a full head of bleach and re-living my peroxide blonde days because I’m just so bored. Thankfully though, before I took such drastic measures (I can hear my hair thanking me), I decided to sort through my wardrobe and rediscover old favourites basics that are versatile, comfortable and can be re-worked to make them feel like you – and to save you pennies!

1.The faux fur gilet. I’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing over buying a short fur jacket for the past few weeks, because faux fur just makes me feel instantly 100 times more cool than I actually am. However, instead of forking out a whole lotta dolla, I dug deep into my super unorganised (eek) wardrobe and found this monochrome gilet from Topshop that I totally don’t wear enough. It’s perfect for when I’m having one of those days where I just don’t know what to wear and changes up a plain outfit in an instant.

2.Thin knit jumper. The Zara basics thin-knit jumpers are something I reach for almost daily. They’re not too bulky to fit under jackets and are great for layering over shirts about blouses and tucking into skirts (and they’re a very attractive price). I have one in three different colours, because why not?

3. White boyfriend shirt. This may seem like a very boring piece but my trusty oversized boyfriend shirt has been my best friend for about three years. Whenever I’m lacking inspiration, I always reach for my white shirt then play around with accessories and shoes.

4. The fedora hat. I won’t lie, my hat collection is somewhat extensive, and some may argue unnecessary. Although, every winter, I always reach for my old wool fedora from H&M.

5.Chelsea boots. I’ve worn and worn my Topshop black chelsea boots to death numerous times – yep, they’ve actually been re-heeled twice. They’re easy to wear, not too flat or too high, and have a pointed toe. Everything you could want in a winter boot!
